Need For Speed Shift 2, sequel to the popular NFS Shift, which was launched in 2009. The game brought a more realistic approach to racing games, something which is little bit uncommon for regular NFS titles.

Till now very less information is revealed about NFS Shift 2, but we can expect a huge array of licensed cars, plenty of real life tracks and for us a lot of game time, this will all be made available on PC, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

Electronic Arts (EA) has posted a $96 million (£60 million) profit for the first quarter of 2010, exceeding expectations even for the world's second-largest games publisher.

As well as the company's popular sports franchises, online games and titles for the Apple iPad contributed to the impressive results, after EA bought Facebook games developer Playfish for $400 million (£252 million) last year.

"Top quality titles like 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa, innovative digital offerings for titles like Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and Scrabble on the Apple iPad are driving the business," commented John Riccitiello, chief executive officer of EA.

EA's Play label announced this week that The Sims Medieval, a series in development that transports characters from the franchise back through time, will be released in spring 2011.

In a break from the series' usual sandbox-style gameplay, it will feature quests and heroes that allow the player to create their own stories.
